Description & Specifications
Nitro #140-2 cottered roller chain is a high quality, high strength chain that is manufactured to the ANSI B29.1 standards. 140-2C roller chain is a double strand chain that is commonly referred to as duplex cottered chain. Cottered roller chain uses cotter pins on one side, which makes cutting down the chain easier than a riveted roller chain. Our #140-2C cottered roller chain components are always manufactured from the best quality raw materials for strength. The chain components are shot peened & precision heat treated to increase the overall strength, wear resistance, longevity & fatigue resistance. Each 10ft roll of 140-2 cottered chain includes one connecting link.

Features
Solid Roller
Manufactured with solid cold-forged rollers for smoother contact with the sprocket teeth and to resist distorting under heavy loads.
Solid Bushing
Built with solid cold-forged bushings for superior wear resistance that results in service life 2x to 3x greater than split bushing chains. See the solid bushing advantage.
Pre-Loaded
After assembly, all Nitro chains are pre-loaded to a minimum load required by the industry standard. Pre-loading seats the chain joint that eliminates any initial elongation in a new chain.
Lubrication
Pre-lubricated in a special formulated lubricant through a hot-dipping process. This process is critical to ensure the lubricant penetrates and thoroughly coats the internals of the chain. The special lubricant offers better retention (less spin-out) and improved wear protection over chains that are cold-dipped.
Heat Treated
Advanced heat treatment is applied to achieve optimum hardness for strength and wear resistance.
Shot Peened
To combat fatigue failure from repetitive loads & wear, a compressive stress layer is added through shot peening.
Product Care & Maintenance
Maintenance and lubrication is crucial in the overall performance and life span of roller chain. Proper lubrication will reduce abrasion, chain wear, friction, noise and keep chains running cooler at higher RPM's. You can download the Nitro Roller Chain Care below.
