Description & Specifications
The 50X ShieldX roller chain was developed for applications that require superior corrosion protection, plus the high-strength of carbon steel chain. The ShieldX chain coating is 100% chromium free, which has been derived from water-based chemistry that uses zinc and aluminum flakes. Offers great protection against humid/wet environments, solvents, seawater, automotive fluids and more.
In addition to superior corrosion resistance, the chain is built from our latest N2 Series ANSI roller chain. This series offers better protection against wear & fatigue, which can improve service life up to 2x-3x longer.

Features
Solid Roller
Manufactured with solid cold-forged rollers for smoother contact with the sprocket teeth and to resist distorting under heavy loads.
Solid Bushing
Built with solid cold-forged bushings for superior wear resistance that results in service life 2x to 3x greater than split bushing chains. See the solid bushing advantage.
Corrosive Protective Coating
The ShieldX chain coating offer superior corrosion protection over nickel & zinc plated roller chains. The coating is applied to all chain part prior to assembly to ensure all surface areas are covered for max protection. Coating is free from any harmful toxic metals.
Pre-Loaded
After assembly, all Nitro chains are pre-loaded to a minimum load required by the industry standard. Pre-loading seats the chain joint that eliminates any initial elongation in a new chain.
Lubrication
Pre-lubricated in a special formulated lubricant through a hot-dipping process. This process is critical to ensure the lubricant penetrates and thoroughly coats the internals of the chain. The special lubricant offers better retention (less spin-out) and improved wear protection over chains that are cold-dipped.
Heat Treated
Advanced heat treatment is applied to achieve optimum hardness for strength and wear resistance.
Shot Peened
To combat fatigue failure from repetitive loads & wear, a compressive stress layer is added through shot peening.
Product Care & Maintenance
Maintenance and lubrication is crucial in the overall performance and life span of roller chain. Proper lubrication will reduce abrasion, chain wear, friction, noise and keep chains running cooler at higher RPM's. You can download the Nitro Roller Chain Care below.
