#80H Heavy Series Riveting Link (Pressed Fit Side Plate)

The riveting links are an alternative to the slip-fit connecting links, however these links are more difficult to install. It's recommended to use these when the chain is running near its max working load.

Riveting Link Installation Instructions:

1. Insert the pin link through the chain.
2. Press/Drive the side plate onto the pin ends until its flush with the end of the pin. (Figure 1)
3. Then you'll need to drive down the plate until the pins are protruding out of the link plate. It's recommended to use a hollow punch. Punch inner diameter must be larger than the pin diameter.² (Figure 2)
4. Finally, Peen/Stake over two or four sides of the pin.  (Figure 3)

² Do not drive the plate too far. This will pinch the roller link and cause a stiff joint that can not move freely.

Never drill the holes of the link plate. This will defeat the purpose of the riveting link and will not offer any advantage over a slip-fit connecting link
