Many applications are tough on roller chain and this is where Nitro™ heavy duty chains comes into play. With improved strength & fatigue resistance, the heavy duty roller chain can withstand more frequent shock loads for longer periods of time over standard chains. The heavy duty roller chains are manufactured using thicker links plates than what standard chains use. In fact, the plate thickness is adopted from the thickness of the next chain size up. ANSI B29.1 standards recognizes the chains sizes #60H up to #240H as industry standard sizes.
Heavy duty chains are not limited to any specific application and are used on many types of machinery across several industries. Any drives that have moderate loads are where you'll commonly see heavy chain used. Some come applications are agricultural equipment, skid-steers, cement mixers & various industrial equipment.
