Stainless steel roller chain is great for corrosive applications where the chain may come into contact with water, alkalies or chemicals. These chains are also great for applications that have extreme temperature ranges. Stainless is naturally a softer material and has less tensile strength compared to a carbon steel roller chain. Due to this, Nitro™ SS chains are manufactured with both solid rollers & solid bushings to increase the strength, wear resistance that ultimately increases the longevity. Many of our competitors will use split bushings & rollers to lower the cost, however this significantly decreases the strength and will wear at a much faster rate. #316 stainless steel roller chain is available by quotation for OEM's & resellers with volume requests.
Need something stronger than stainless steel? An alternative for a medium to high corrosive resistance chain is our Dacromet roller chain. This is a carbon steel chain with a highly corrosive resistant baked on Dacromet coating.
