Description & Specifications
Nitro high-quality 180 roller chains are built for strength, durability and reliability. Our chains are manufactured from very specific carbon & alloy steel to achieve the highest level of wear & fatigue resistance through precise heat treatment & shot peening. Nitro #180 chain if fully compliant to the ANSI B29.1 standards, which outlines specific dimensional & strength requirements for Amercian roller chain sizes. ANSI compliance also ensures this chain is compatible with any ANSI #180 roller chain sprocket.
The 180-1R roller chain is commonly referred to as a 2-1/4" pitch chain, which is the pin to pin measurement.

Features
Engineered to Outlast.
Built to Perform.
Every component is precision-manufactured and rigorously tested — delivering maximum strength, wear life, and reliability under the toughest conditions.
Hardened Link Plates
Hardened link plates deliver superior fatigue strength, engineered to absorb repeated shock loads and high-impact forces.
Solid Rollers
Cold-forged solid rollers ensure smooth, uniform sprocket engagement and resist deformation — even under extreme loads.
Solid Bushings
Cold-forged solid bushings provide 2–3× the service life of split-bushing chains through vastly superior wear resistance. See the advantage →
Pre-Loaded (Pre-Stretched)
Every chain is loaded to industry-standard minimums after assembly, which seats all joints to eliminate initial stretch right out of the box.
Heat Treated Pins
Advanced thermal processing achieves extreme surface hardness offering the best wear resistance.
Shot Peened
A compressive stress layer is applied to critical surfaces, dramatically increasing fatigue resistance against cracking from repetitive loads.
Hot-Dip Lubrication
A proprietary hot-dip process drives lubricant deep into every pin and bushing interface — delivering better retention and wear protection than lightweight oil alternatives.
Product Care & Maintenance
Maintenance and lubrication is crucial in the overall performance and life span of roller chain. Proper lubrication will reduce abrasion, chain wear, friction, noise and keep chains running cooler at higher RPM's. You can download the Nitro Roller Chain Care below.
