Description & Specifications
Nitro 40 Roller Chain is a high-quality, ANSI standard roller chain that is manufactured for strength and longevity. Our chains are made from high-quality carbon/alloy steel and are heat treated to increase their strength and durability. Nitro #40 chain is manufactured from our latest N2 Series, which offers industry leading quality features. The rollers are solid cold-forged for smooth contact with the sprocket teeth and to resist distorting under heavy loads. A quality advantage is our bushings, which are a solid cold-forged construction for superior wear resistance. All size 40 chains are pre-loaded to a minimum load required by the ANSI B29.1 industry standard. Lastly all chains the pre-lubricated in a special formulated lubricant through a hot-dipping process for better wear protection.

Features
Engineered to Outlast.
Built to Perform.
Every component is precision-manufactured and rigorously tested — delivering maximum strength, wear life, and reliability under the toughest conditions.
Hardened Link Plates
Hardened link plates deliver superior fatigue strength, engineered to absorb repeated shock loads and high-impact forces.
Solid Rollers
Cold-forged solid rollers ensure smooth, uniform sprocket engagement and resist deformation — even under extreme loads.
Solid Bushings
Cold-forged solid bushings provide 2–3× the service life of split-bushing chains through vastly superior wear resistance. See the advantage →
Pre-Loaded (Pre-Stretched)
Every chain is loaded to industry-standard minimums after assembly, which seats all joints to eliminate initial stretch right out of the box.
Heat Treated Pins
Advanced thermal processing achieves extreme surface hardness offering the best wear resistance.
Shot Peened
A compressive stress layer is applied to critical surfaces, dramatically increasing fatigue resistance against cracking from repetitive loads.
Hot-Dip Lubrication
A proprietary hot-dip process drives lubricant deep into every pin and bushing interface — delivering better retention and wear protection than lightweight oil alternatives.
Product Care & Maintenance
Maintenance and lubrication is crucial in the overall performance and life span of roller chain. Proper lubrication will reduce abrasion, chain wear, friction, noise and keep chains running cooler at higher RPM's. You can download the Nitro Roller Chain Care below.
